Larry's extensive experience in commercial flooring began in 1964 as a manufacturer's representative for Alexander Smith and Lees Carpets where he worked for fifteen years. He then went on to begin and develop the San Antonio branch of Carpet Services, where he became the branch manager and vice president. Twenty years later, he moved on to Re:Source Texas, an Interface Americas owned dealership, where he worked for five years as the branch manager and vice president. Larry founded Commercial Surfaces in 2001 and has since grown the company to fifteen employees.

Kurt Fielden
Partner and Vice President

A native to San Antonio, Kurt started working with Larry Hicks in 1979. Today, Kurt is an active partner in the day to day operations of Commercial Surfaces, as well as a project manager of more than $2 million in sales per year.

Rommy Cubillo
Partner and Senior Sales Associate

Rommy has advanced through the ranks as Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager and now as one of the partners of the firm. With an extensive knowledge of flooring products and installation, Rommy oversees all labor resources and has the unique ability to put everything together to result in many successful projects. He is bilingual, has taken several training classes on flooring products and has certifications with Armstrong and Milliken.

Patrick Quinn

Patrick has been active in the commercial flooring industry since 1980. He spent the first 16 years working with a commercial carpet manufacturing company before moving on to the contractor side of the business. He joined Larry Hicks at Re:Source and has been working with him ever since.
Patrick holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from Manhattan College in New York. He is a past-president of the San Antonio chapter of IFMA (International Facility Management Association). He is an experienced diver and is a Certified Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

Raul Valadez

Raul started in the flooring business in 1984. He is bilingual and has an extensive background in installation which gives him the ability to troubleshoot and communicate potential problems with flooring projects to clients and manufacturers. He was a technical rep for Forbo Industries for 5 years teaching installation techniques to installers across Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Mexico, Central and South America. He is a certified Forbo Master Mechanic with speciality in resilient. He also has certifications from Armstrong, Mannington, Interface Flooring, Shaw Industries and Ardex Cements.

Pete Soto

Pete has over 20 years of experience in the commercial flooring industry. He started with his own installation company, but went on to work as a representative for Armstrong World Industry, a resilient flooring manufacturer, and later for Interceramic tile, a tile manufacturer. He also has five years of experience as an estimator for DuPont Flooring systems. Pete joined Commercial Surfaces in March of 2005 and is responsible for project management and sales.

Megan is the daughter of Kurt and Betty Fielden. She has a Bachelors in elementary education from Texas Lutheran University. She also is an alumni to St. Mary's University of San Antonio Texas were she received a masters in adminstraion in 2007. Megan has assisted CSI for many years but joined CSI full time in June 2009. She is currently working on a masters in accounting from Kaplan University. She is currently working in our accounting department.

Lito has been working for CSI for 4 years. He began his career for CSI in October of 2005. He is a 2005 graduate from McCollum High School in San Antonio. He is in charge of warehousing and estimating.
